In 2019, I took a trip to Eastern Europe. While there, I was astonished by all the dacha houses on the outskirts of cities. They were full of gardens, food and life. These lots were no larger than a typical American home lot, yet provided 40% of food for a household. This inspired our family to turn our yard into a food forest.
Let us help you do the same!
Nourish your body
Growing your own food is not only more nutritious and non-toxic, it helps you become more physically active.
Grow in well-being
Working soil and harvesting home grown food is shown to increase serotonin levels, reduce depression, and boost creativity.
Create connection
Spending time in nature and sharing harvests is shown to strengthen family bonds, boost friendships, and create healthier communities.
Edible landscapes, commonly known as foodscapes or food forests, can take on
multiple different forms like mini orchards, hillside vineyards, berry gardens,
fruit tree guilds, patio vegetable gardens, and raised beds.
They complement your current landscape by incorporating in additional food, flowers,
herbal medicines, human sanctuaries and animal habitats.
We create edible landscapes using permaculture principles. We incorporate several layers of plants including fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines, rhizomes, mushrooms, flowers, perennial vegetables, and annual vegetables.
An edible landscape is thoughtfully designed to produce maximum nutrition, beauty, and abundance.
Our edible landscape design and installation services can be customized for residences, acreages, businesses, churches, schools, daycares, parks, and neighborhood community gardens!
How we design?
Before installing an edible landscape, it's important to get the right design for your space and goals. During our onsite consultation, we will take precise measurements, find natural contour lines, look at topography maps, understand sunlight and water flow, check the soil type, and evaluate any obstructive objects. After gathering this information, we put together a custom foodscape design based that fits your goals. Designs can range from large scale food forest projects to smaller backyard farms. Designs can be acres large to 700 sq feet small.
We have the best foodscaper team in Minnesota, renowned for our innovative designs and sustainable practices. Our expert team transforms local landscapes into vibrant, productive edible gardens, setting the gold standard for foodscaping in the region.
